On July 10 FESCO Icebreaker Krasin departed from the homeport of Vladivostok. It will make its way to the eastern Arctic region for pilotage, mainly carrying general cargo and containers to ports and port-points in northern Chukotka and Yakutia. The Krasin will be undertaking this task at the request of the Federal Maritime and River Transport Agency of the Russian Federation.
Vladivostok Commercial Seaport (VMTP), part of FESCO Transportation Group, handled over 47,777 TEU in June 2014, setting a personal historical record for container handling. The previous monthly record for the container handling was set in November 2013 and amounted to 46,463 TEU.
FESCO Transportation Group has tackled the construction of the approximately 300,000-TEU capacity transportation-logistics center Usady in the Moscow Region. Total project cost is estimated at 6.8bn rubles.
On March 31, 2014, FESCO Transportation Group will release trading update for the twelve months period ended December 31, 2013. The trading update will include FY2013 operational and consolidated financial results.
On March 19, 2014 in Tokyo, the representatives of FESCO, Marubeni Corporation and United Grain Company signed a memorandum on cooperation within the framework of increasing the volume of grain exports from the ports of the Far Eastern Region of the Russian Federation as part of the Russian-Japanese investment forum.
