15 April 2019

FESCO Transportation Group and DB Cargo Russija Co Ltd, a 100% subsidiary of DB Cargo AG, Europe's leading rail freight carrier, have agreed to develop container transportation of perishable goods between Russia and China through a multimodal route via the Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP, part of the FESCO Group) and direct land services. The agreement was signed by Alexander Isurin, President of FESCO, and Uwe Loyshner, General Director of DB CARGO RUSSIA LLC, in the framework of the exhibition "TransRussia". There will be deliveries of food products to China and agricultural products to Russia.

The agreement provides for the transportation of goods by existing FESCO multimodal services from Moscow and Novosibirsk to the ports of China via Vladivostok and in the opposite direction with a delivery time of up to 25 days, the development of land rail service from Moscow and Novosibirsk to the province of China, as well as in the opposite direction. Its launch is scheduled for the summer of 2019, the delivery time on this route will be less than 20 days.

"The expansion of the geography of container transportation, as well as the development of non-commodity exports are strategic priorities. We expect that cooperation with DB Cargo will allow us to increase the transportation volume and optimize logistic solutions on the routes Russia-China-Russia due to return load," said Alexander Isurin.
